Paddle Polo was a hit at the Surf Expo with interest and orders spanning the globe. Attendees had the opportunity to demo Paddle Polo sticks while testing boards and equipment from dozens of the leading SUP manufacturers. At the Surf Expo held in the Orlando Convention Center, the Paddle Polo booth hosted a steady stream of interested retailers, instructors, media and partners from all over the world. When word leaked out that the Medford Lakes Education Foundation (MLEF) was hosting its second Annual Paddle Board Race and Family Fun Day, there was no shortage of community support. Families, local businesses, and civic organizations all rallied to support the “Stand Up For Schools” event, which was held on postcard perfect day recently. Lisa Blanchard, President of MLEF said, “Without the generosity and support of our community, crucial fund raising events such as this would never happen”. Medford Lakes School Superintendent, Anthony Dent, said that, pending final approval, the MLEF will be donating much needed technology equipment to the district: a document camera, 10 iPads for their Special Education Program, and 50 Chromebooks for students at the Neeta School. Carolina Cup kicked off the official launch of Paddle Polo and although the weather was sometimes questionable the race garnered record turnouts and all the top pros and hundreds of weekend warriors!Paddle Polo participated on the oceanside expo, which made it difficult for water demos but dozens of kids of all ages had fun playing with Paddle Polo sticks on the lawn at the Blockade Runner Hotel.The race generated dozens of orders and feedback. The 2015 Carolina Cup kicks off the SUP race season and will be Paddle Polo's race debut! Carolina Cup features 4 courses: a kids race, the Harbor Island Recreational “fun” race, an Money Island open race and the dreaded Graveyard Elite Race. In 2012, the Carolina Cup was the largest race on the East Coast with over 400 paddlers competing in the first day of races. In 2013, they had over 600.
