Paddle Polo Hits a Home Run with San Francisco Giants!

5/19/2015

When we learned that Drew Testwuide, Captain of the Barbary Ghost had crafted some sticks and was organizing weekly SUP Lacrosse Games at 101 Surf Sports in San Rafeal, California we were charged up to see how his crew would like our Paddle Polo sticks.
We were blown away when Drew and his paddlers tested the sticks at McCovey Cove at AT&T Park at one of their Baseball by Boat outings!  Better yet, the gang was captured on the Jumbotron as the World Series Champs, San Francisco Giants routed the San Diego Padres! The footage of them playing was even picked up on the television feed!
Drew provided us with great feedback on the sticks that included:
  • Love the way it installs so easily and securely on the paddle.
  • Love the way it throws – kind of has a little snap to it.
  • Love having access to the handle.
Drew and his team prefer using the Waboba Pro ball when playing. This is a pretty cool ball that actually bounces on water.  We love this feedback, we are playing around with a variety of balls right now and expect to have several options for different styles of play in the near future.
Another comment from Drew was regarding using traditional lacrosse heads instead of the Paddle Polo water-shedding heads.  This is actually an easy modification - we will be posting a tutorial on how you can swap out your favorite head on the stick!
Again, a big thanks to Drew and crew for the feedback and exposure! When you are in the Bay Area of California make sure you check these guys out - looks like they are the epicenter of fun on the water in that region!
